TURAS and Family Community Service
TURAS Family and Community Service is a community-based model of service which recognizes and acknowledges the need for short breaks and respite along with family and community-based support for families and individuals. TURAS services are committed to supporting people to make choices about their lives and to the provision of quality services that meet people’s needs. The service makes every effort to meet the assessed needs of families and aims to offer appropriate supports led by the individual and their family in line with personal outcomes measures. TURAS family and community service is a flexible quality service managed, coordinated, and delivered by qualified trained staff.
TURAS Family and Community Service employs support workers to work on a one-to-one basis with the child/young person in their homes or the local community. Afterschool support, self-directed support and Holiday Projects are options of support offered by TURAS.
After School Groups
After-school groups are held weekly. These include swimming groups and various other activities.
Holiday Projects
Holiday projects are run offering opportunities for young people to enjoy various outings as well as participating in sports, arts, and crafts activities.
Home Sharing Service
In addition to these Family and Community supports, TURAS also operates a Home Sharing service.
Outreach Services
Outreach service is a community based model of service based in Roscommon which consists of two elements of support:
- In Home Supports
- Outreach / One to One or Group Supports
