Social and Micro Enterprises

Our Social and Micro enterprises support individuals to develop enterprises and individual employment opportunities. Individuals are given opportunities to develop their work and social skills through participation in enterprises.

Social Enterprises are businesses whose core objective is to achieve a social, societal, or environmental impact. Like other businesses, social enterprises trade in goods or services on an ongoing basis. However, any surpluses they generate are re-invested into achieving a social impact.

Some enterprises have developed into small businesses whereas in other centres individuals may design and produce craft items and sell them in local markets and fairs. Any profits achieved are distributed to the individuals involved in the production of the product.
