The Green Bean Café in Athenry was officially opened on Monday 16th October by Minister Anne Rabbitte T.D. and Fintan Bray, Community worker and Equity Officer. The Green Bean Café is a social enterprise that aims to empower young adults with intellectual disabilities; changing lives one brew at a time! They operate from the Athenry Primary Care Centre, serving specialty coffee and teas and a selection of handmade sandwiches & pastries. The café operates like any other… the only difference is the team are mostly made up of aspiring young Barista Apprentices. 100% of sales goes back into this initiative, empowering these young adults.
